Hmmmm...I wonder what this was mastered from. If it's from original
Van Beuren prints, it will be missing quite a bit of stuff that David
Shepard restored. I'm still hanging on to my old Republic laserdiscs.

I love those scores...still the best accompaniment for the Mutuals
IMNSHO. If only they could be re-orchestrated and re-recorded to
match the more complete prints. I can dream...

Yeah but if they are original Van Beuren prints, we should get the opening
shot for "The Pawnshop" as well as the closing shot for "The Rink". Both
are missing from the Shepard restorations.

Those Van Beuren scores are a lot of fun. When I first heard them, I was
only put off by the occasional sound effects, but the music itself is quite
good. I still own the Republic VHS editions that featured these scores,
although the picture quality is certainly much improved on the DVD releases.
It would be interesting to do a comparison between the versions and see what
shots are missing.
